The erosion left gullies and channels that have by complete chance formed the image of the Indian head if seen from a great height. The geological feature was produced several hundred years ago or more, probably because a fierce storm unleashed flooding and winds that eroded the clayey soil and sedimentary rocks.
The Story of the Guardian of the Badlands These areas have also been the site for extensive dinosaur finds throughout the years. These landscapes are difficult to navigate, and it is easy to get lost in the winding gullies. The first Europeans to settle in the Canadian prairies gave these geographical areas the name of ‘Badlands’ because they were deemed to be inhospitable and dangerous. The stunning wilderness long had a spiritual significance for the Siska people and there are important First Nation archaeological sites in the Alberta Badlands. They were formed during the end of the last Ice Age when glacial meltwater created valleys and steeps slopes out of the sedimentary rock and clay soil. The Badlands are desolate terrain of gullies, chasms, sinkholes, and hills. The location of the geological wonder is very remote, in an area that has been traditionally the home of the Siska First Nation People, often known as the Blackfoot tribes. The Badlands’ Guardian is near Medicine Hat in the south-east of Alberta and not far from the border with the USA. The discovery of the dramatic and unusual geographical feature has fascinated many in Canada and beyond. This is a geological wonder that appears to represent an indigenous man’s head in profile. One of the most dramatic has only been revealed in recent years, the Badlands Guardian. Even though this area is a natural formation, it is amazingly ironic to see these arid badlands formations resemble the fully detailed shape of the very same indigenous people that lived in these lands.Canada is a large country with a great many amazing natural sights. Although this area is a completely natural geological feature in southwest Alberta, Canada, one cannot help but notice the striking resemblance of a human head wearing his full native American headdress. Believe it or not, amazing discoveries have been found using this program. Google Earth is the perfect tool to explore and discover the physical remains of ancient cultures or unexplained anomalies found throughout this wonderful world. I belong to this group, as I am sure many others are as well. Some people use it to locate areas they have lived or traveled, while others use it to visit remote places of the planet that one would not otherwise be able to see. The program, which utilizes satellite imagery and aerial photographs to map the earth in amazing detail, can be used for a variety of reasons. By now, most of you have either downloaded or are at least aware of Google Earth.
